Splooshr — Privacy Policy

Splooshr has no accounts you sign up for, no servers of its own, no analytics, and no advertising. We — the developer — cannot see your data, because there is no Splooshr server anywhere for it to go to. Everything you log stays on your iPhone. There is exactly one exception, to Apple's own service and never to us: a brief place-name lookup through Apple Maps when you attach a location. It is explained below.

Who we are

Splooshr is an iPhone app for privately tracking bathroom visits. This policy explains how the app handles information. It applies to the Splooshr iOS app only.

What we collect

Nothing, for ourselves. Splooshr has no user accounts we run, no backend servers of our own, no analytics or telemetry, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. We do not collect, receive, sell, or share any personal information about you. The one place any of your data can travel off your device — Apple Maps, for turning a coordinate into a place name — is an Apple service under your control, described below. It sends nothing to us.

What the app stores on your device

Everything you create in Splooshr is stored locally on your iPhone:

• Your log entries (date and time, the type you selected, count, and any optional details such as floor, stall, or cleanliness rating)
• Any private notes or nicknames you choose to add
• Location coordinates, place names, and state/country for logs, when you grant location access
• Your progress: totals, milestones, badges, and streaks
• App settings and preferences

This data lives in the app's private storage on your device and does not sync anywhere. It is included in your device backups if you back up your iPhone (to iCloud or a computer), because that is how iOS backs up every app — those backups are controlled by Apple and by you, not by us.

If you add the Splooshr widget to your Home Screen or Lock Screen, it displays your progress using the same locally stored data. The widget reads that data on your device only — nothing about it is transmitted anywhere.

Location

If you allow location access, Splooshr records where a log happened so you can see it on your map, and looks up a nearby place name. Turning your coordinate into a readable place name ("reverse geocoding") is done by Apple's own Maps service, which briefly receives that coordinate to perform the lookup — a standard system service your iPhone already runs, not a third party we've added or a server we control. Apart from that lookup, your location is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Location access is optional — you can decline it, or turn it off later in iOS Settings, and Splooshr keeps working. Logging never requires location.

Health-related information

Splooshr lets you record a stool type based on the Bristol Stool Scale, a standard classification used in digestive health, and can show you the distribution of your own logs over time. This information is stored only on your device — it is never transmitted to us or to any third party. Splooshr does not connect to Apple Health. Splooshr is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or offer medical advice. It only displays your own data back to you. If you have health concerns, please talk to a doctor or other qualified healthcare professional.

Purchases

Splooshr offers a single one-time in-app purchase. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the transaction and tells the app whether the purchase is active. We never see or receive your payment details — no card numbers, no billing address, nothing. Apple's handling of purchase information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Sharing

Splooshr can generate a shareable image for a log or when you unlock a milestone or badge, which you can send using the standard iOS share sheet. From Settings you can also export your logs as a CSV file, generate PDF reports of your journal — a descriptive report and a monthly statement, both of which deliberately leave out location data — or save a backup file you can later import. All of these are files you create on purpose and share wherever you choose. Nothing is shared unless you choose to share it, and where it goes is entirely up to you.

Children

Splooshr is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone for our own use. Because we hold none of your data ourselves, there is no children's data for us to hold.

Your control over your data

Because your data lives only on your device, you are fully in control. You can edit or delete individual logs at any time, use Delete All Data in Settings to erase everything, or delete the app. Deleting your data permanently erases your logs, streaks, milestones, and badges from your device. Copies you made yourself — a CSV export, a PDF report, a backup file, or an iPhone backup — live wherever you put them and are yours to keep or delete. There is no Splooshr server-side copy to request or for us to delete — we never had one.
